Hello and welcome to this week’s post.
I hope you had a wonderful week and enjoyed Thanksgiving if you’re in America.
This week I’ll be talking about my morning and night routine. In terms of my morning routine outside of the bathroom, it always consists of waking up early to let the dogs out and after my skincare routine, taking them to the dog park. The little stinkers rule our early hours and leaves us with productive mornings and long afternoon naps.
I don’t really eat breakfast, or at least, not anytime before 10 am. I’m not a big fan of eating really early in the morning, but when I do have my first meal, it’s usually Rice Krispies. Yes, I’m 26 years old.
Evenings usually consist of a run around 4 pm, dinner around 6:30, and a movie or bath shortly after. Not too much craziness in this house. Yannick and I are definitely creatures of habit.
Now into the good stuff- my morning/night time bathroom routine. The two are relatively similar with a few product changes here and there. I know that the skin care is pretty expensive but I truly do believe that using preventative measures can help your skin in the long run.
Here’s a little rundown on my skin and my horrible habits: I used to bake in the sun everyday; it didn’t matter wether it was a tanning bed or outside, I needed to have a tan at all times. Unfortunately, my skin has paid for it and I already have fine lines on my forehead and around my eyes, as well as sun damage. I definitely don’t drink enough water and don’t get enough sleep. My advice to you: use a sunless tanner, drink your water, eat your veggies and get your beauty sleep. Seriously, you’ll thank yourself.
Now, let’s get started.
Morning Skin Care
Firstly, I brush my teeth. Simple enough, right? Here’s a little tip for you: use Plax. It’s a mouthwash you can use before you brush your teeth and I swear it’s made a huge difference in the witness of my teeth and my gum health. For toothpaste I use Crest Brilliant White.Next, I move onto washing my face. I use the Rodan + Fields Reverse skincare regimen. It smells awesome and it’s great for people around my age. It’s kept my skin radiant and hasn’t caused me to produce excess oils which has been great for my makeup wear the throughout the day. If you’re not into the idea of spending that much money on skin care, I’d highly recommend using a gentle daily exfoliator to keep your skin bright and tight.
Lastly, I use two firming products from Bliss for my stomach and love handles. I know this is extra, but I swear I’ve seen results from it. They’re the Fat Girl Six Pack tummy tonight gel and another product that seems to have been discontinued….. I better stock up!
What’s In My Shower
I’m currently using Simple Proof Perfect Hair Day for shampoo and conditioner. My hair feels healthy, but if you have fine hair like I do, be wary of the amount of conditioner you use. I find that if I used too much or get it too close to my roots, my hair gets weighed down and oily. Quick tip: only apply conditioner to your ends and up to the mid lengths of your hair.
I love this Olay Strawberry Smoothie body wash. It smells amazing and lathers into luxurious bubbles (With the use of a body loofa). My alternative is the Comforter body wash from Lush. It smells great and lathers well.
If I’m going to be sunless tanning or if I’m shaving, I’ll use the Soap & Glory Smoothie Star body scrub. This smells like heaven. That may even be an understatement. I seriously can’t get enough of this scent. It’s warm vanilla and maple syrup with an oatmeal cookie scent mixed in. And it leaves my skin super moisturized and soft. If you try one thing in this post, make it this scrub.
I use a Schick Quatro 5 blade razor for all my shaving needs. I’ve been using this specific brand and type for years and it does the job.
Nightly Skin Care
My nightly routine is pretty much the same as my morning routine with a few exceptions.
I use the Rodan + Fields Redefine regimen at night. I love this stuff. I was using the Sunday Riley Luna oil and the Good Genes serum, but I didn’t notice any substantial differences in any regard. The Rodan + Fields line has helped my skin texture and has reduced the fine lines around my eyes. It is expensive, but I do think it’s worth it.
I also use the Rodan +Fields lash boost. This stuff is a miracle worker. If you’re going to buy anything from the brand, buy the lash serum! I’ll do a more in depth blog post in the future on this product.
Next, I brush my teeth with the same toothpaste and mouthwash I use in the morning. And also repeat the steps with the Bliss body tonight products.
I always sleep with my hair in a loose ponytail and use a scrunchy to prevent major kinks and breakage.
That’s about it! Please let me know if there’s any skin care, body products or hair care I should try out. I’m always up for trying and reviewing new products. Please take what I say with a grain of salt and use your own discretion with the products I recommended, especially the skin care. Every body is different and you know yourself and what you like better than I do. Also, I don’t sell Rodan + Fields, I just have a few friends who recommended it.
Thanks so much for reading and I hope you have a great week. I’ll see you here next Sunday.
