Makeup Remover

Hello and welcome! I hope you’re all doing well.

I thought I’d write a quick post and share my favorite makeup remover with you.  Yes, I know it seems trivial but I didn’t realize how easy makeup removal could be until I found this product.

Let me preface by saying that I personally don’t like oil based removers/ micellar waters.  Although they do remove makeup better than a water based solution, I find that any oil based makeup remover makes for a sad soap lather when it comes time to wash away the mess that the oil based remover leaves. I feel like I end up wasting product and time.makeupremover (1 of 1)Cue the Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm.  This stuff is magic. makeupremover2 (1 of 1)It feels, as the name would suggest, balmy and moisturizing and completely removes every trace of my makeup, but the best part is the rinse.  It rinses off so cleanly without leaving a weird oily residue on my skin and I can immediately go in with a soap cleanser and not worry about the soap not lathering.  makeupremover3 (1 of 1) It doesn’t take much of the product either.  I’ll generally take about a dime sized amount if I’m wearing a full face of makeup and that might even be too much. A little goes a long way. It removes waterproof makeup like a dream but doesn’t strip my skin of it’s natural moisture.

I never ever go to bed with makeup on my face, but if I’m really tired, I’ll use this stuff, do a quick rinse with water and finish it off with (a water based) micellar water and I don’t feel like I’ve committed a beauty offense by sleeping in my makeup.

That’s it! Let me know if you’ve tried this stuff out or if you have any other recommendations for removers! I’d love to hear your thoughts.  Thanks for reading and I’ll see you tomorrow.
